Course Description
The SGH Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program – 2nd Formative Assessment (2025–2026) is a structured evaluation designed to measure residents’ competence in essential obstetric principles and clinical management. This MCQ-based assessment covers a comprehensive range of high-yield OB topics encountered in daily practice, reflecting real-world decision-making aligned with ACOG and SMFM recommendations.
The assessment evaluates the resident’s ability to:
Recognize and appropriately manage obstetric emergencies
Apply evidence-based guidelines in preterm labor, PPROM, and hypertensive disorders
Interpret fetal monitoring and respond to fetal compromise
Manage antepartum and postpartum bleeding, amniotic fluid abnormalities, and labor complications
Determine timing and mode of delivery in placenta previa, abruption, and other critical conditions
This formative assessment serves as an educational checkpoint, helping trainees identify strengths and areas for improvement as they progress through the residency program. It provides program leadership with valuable insight into resident readiness and clinical decision-making proficiency.
