IRB Unit
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the Saudi German Health Research Center was established and last updated on Aug 27th 2025, and is officially registered with the National Committee of Bioethics (NCBE) (HA-02-J-164).
IRB is responsible for safeguarding the rights, safety, and welfare of research participants and ensuring compliance with the regulations and guidelines set by the NCBE.
Biostatistics, Data & AI Unit
The Biostatistics, Data & Artificial Intelligence unit leads the discovery and decision-making in health and life sciences. It addresses complex scientific and clinical research challenges using statistical methodology, data science, and artificial intelligence. It serves as a hub for scientific research, offering expertise in study design, statistical modeling, data management, and AI development in close collaboration with clinicians, researchers, industry partners, and policymakers. With a strong emphasis on innovation, reproducibility, and the ethical use of data and AI, the unit supports the research lifecycle and educates the next generation of biostatisticians, data scientists, and AI practitioners.
Epidemiology & Population Health Unit
The Epidemiology & Population Health unit is dedicated to advancing evidence-based healthcare through population-level research, real-world data, and applied epidemiological methods. The unit studies disease patterns, health outcomes, and healthcare utilization to inform clinical practice, quality improvement, and health system planning.
Aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, the unit works closely with clinicians, researchers, and hospital leadership to support value-based care, patient safety initiatives, and data-driven decision-making. Through multidisciplinary collaboration and rigorous research standards, the department contributes to improving patient outcomes and strengthening the overall performance of the healthcare system.
